9th straight shutout win propels Lady Jets to CCCAA Elite Eight
Nov 26, 2014

The Miramar women's soccer team continued its stifling defensive play, leading to a 1-0 win over visiting Rio Hondo in the second round of the 2014 CCCAA SoCal playoffs.

The shutout is the 9th straight shutout win for the Lady Jets, who haven't been scored upon since allowing a lone goal to Palomar on Oct. 17th. It is the team's 15th shutout win this season. All-PCAC North Goalie of the Year Stephanie Carlson logged six saves against Rio Hondo, in support of her teammates' defensive efforts.

Bianca Scodallaro's goal in the 46th minute, off an assist from Katie White, was all the Lady Jets needed offensively.

Miramar WSOC now moves on to the SoCal final round, when it travels to #1 seed Santiago Canyon on Saturday, Nov. 29th, game time 2:00 pm. Admission is $10.00 - adult (general admission), $7.00 - identified student, faculty, staff, senior citizens (60+) and children 12 and under (general admission). The winner advances to the CCCAA women's soccer Final Four, Dec. 5th & 7th at Mt. San Antonio College.
