Jets WSOC playoff run stopped by Rio Hondo, 1-0

The Miramar women's soccer team saw its 2015 CCCAA playoff run end Tuesday, as a late goal gave host Rio Hondo a 1-0 win at the University of La Verne.

The match was a defensive struggle, as both teams combined for only 15 shots on goal.  A red card assessed against Miramar in the 85th minute left them a player down for the remainder of the match, and Rio Hondo took advantage as Janeth Acuna scored the contest's lone goal in the 88th minute.

The loss ends the Lady Jets' championship season at 16-3-2.  A 16-match unbeated streak, featuring 11 straight wins, propelled Jets WSOC to its sixth PCAC championship.

Consistent with the mission of San Diego Miramar College, Miramar Jets Intercollegiate Athletics will strive for academic and athletic excellence by offering model programs that fit the needs, interests, and abilities of our male and female student-athletes.
