WSOC's Maddox named PCAC Athlete of the Week

The Pacific Coast Athletic Conference has honored Miramar women’s soccer player Katie Maddox as a Women’s Athlete of the Week, for the week ending October 26th.   Maddox shares the award with Palomar College volleyball player Madi Stark.

Maddox, a freshman forward from Elsinore High School, is the leading scorer for a Miramar team that leads the PCAC Northern Division over runner-up Mt. San Jacinto, is 11-1-2 overall and ranked No. 6 in the state.

Last week, she led the Jets to two wins, which brought their unbeaten streak to 12 games, with wins over San Diego City College 5-0 and rival San Diego Mesa 2-0. Maddox contributed two goals and an assist in the victory over the Knights and scored a pivotal goal in the win against the Olympians.

Consistent with the mission of San Diego Miramar College, Miramar Jets Intercollegiate Athletics will strive for academic and athletic excellence by offering model programs that fit the needs, interests, and abilities of our male and female student-athletes. In this context, excellence is focused on the physical, emotional, and intellectual well being to develop meaningful standards of character, respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership, and sportsmanship within the educational and social environment, through highly qualified educators, coaches, and state-of-the-art facilities.
