Jets Make History with Runner-Up Finish at PCAC Championships

Men Finish Strong as Runners-Up
In just the second season in program history, the San Diego Miramar College Swim & Dive team delivered a statement performance at the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) Championships. The men's team secured a close second-place finish, marking another major step forward for the rising Jets program.
"This group has put in the work, trusted the process, and bought into a true team-first culture," said Head Coach Lucy Gates. For a program still in its early stages, these results say a lot about where Miramar Swim & Dive is headed.
Championship Standouts
A number of strong performances led the way for the Jets:
- Kyle Bolas delivered a championship performance, placing 1st in both the 100 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke, and currently ranks 6th and 9th in the state in those events.
- Kyle Le had a strong showing, placing 3rd in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly, and 4th in the 100 Individual Medley.
- The Jets also made their presence felt in the relays, placing second in four events, led by Jonathan Cesena, Kyle Bolas, Kyle Le, Eli Lundburg, and Connor McAulay.
Additional medalist performances included:
- Eli Lundburg — 5th (200 Individual Medley), 5th (200 Butterfly)
- Connor McAulay — 5th (200 Freestyle), 5th (500 Freestyle)
- Kenji Puraty — 3rd (400 Individual Medley)
- Jonathan Cesena — 5th (100 Backstroke), 4th (200 Backstroke)
- Diego Rangel — 5th (200 Backstroke)

Eyes on State Championships
The season isn't over yet.
Kyle Bolas has become the first male swimmer in program history to qualify for the 3C2A State Championships, where he will compete against the top community college swimmers from across California.

After a third-place finish in their inaugural 2025 season, the Jets have taken another big step forward with a second-place finish in year two. With momentum building and history already being made, the team now turns its focus to the state stage, ready to represent Miramar College and continue building a program that's quickly becoming one to watch across the 3C2A.
