Gino Gamboa Leaves Lasting Impact on Jets Men’s Volleyball
After three seasons with San Diego Miramar College Men's Volleyball as the head coach, Gino Gamboa will be departing the program as he and his fiancée relocate to Santa Cruz to begin a new chapter together.
Gamboa joined the Jets midway through the 2023 season as an assistant coach before taking over as head coach later that year. Since then, he has helped continue the growth and success of the program, including guiding the Jets to multiple Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) Championships.
This past season, Gamboa led Miramar to another conference title while earning PCAC Coach of the Year honors for his leadership and impact on the program. Under his direction, the Jets continued to establish themselves as one of the top community college men's volleyball programs in the state.
San Diego Miramar Athletics thanks Coach Gamboa for his contributions to the department and wishes him and his fiancée the very best in this next chapter.
The Jets will immediately begin the search for the next head coach to continue building upon the program's recent success.
