San Diego Miramar College head women's soccer coach Sean Bowers has been named the 2014-2015 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Female Sport Coach of the Year. This is the third year in a row that Bowers has won the honor, but his first outright honor.

This past season, Bowers led the Lady Jets to a 17-3-2 record, a PCAC title, and a berth in the state quarterfinals. The Lady Jets finished the 2014 season ranked 3rd in southern California, 5th in the state, and 18th nationally.  Under his direction, the Jets featured seven 1st Team All-Conference players and the PCAC's Defender of the Year.

"I am truly honored because this award is not just for soccer, but for all the women's sports in our conference," said Bowers. "There are so many deserving candidates, but I have to give credit to the young women who continue to believe in this program. Their hard work and dedication is the reason why I won this award."

The ex-San Diego Sockers player is in his 8th season as head coach of the women's program. Over that time, Bowers has led the Lady Jets to a 126-29-15 overall record and several appearances in the national rankings. He has been named the PCAC women's soccer Coach of the Year four times.
